tina fey has single-handedly shepherded me through the past two weeks. look at liz lemon go! see, funny smart brunettes can succeed! i even made a list of all the things lemon and i have in common. that made me feel good.

it feels like i just took a vacation from my semi-permanent vacation. and just like taking some time off from those fancy job things some of you still have, my break was well deserved.
after i returned from the beautiful back bay hilton, i packed my loosest clothes for a trip to ny. why loose? turns out you let yourself go, after being let go.
once i arrived, i ate my way through long island....

this is the week from hell i think.
im currently writing you all from room 605 at the hilton back bay. my landlord (oh, it took so much strength not to add an adjective before landlord) poly’ed the hardwood floors in the two floors below me. without ventilating down there or leaving a window open. surprise, surprise! it made its way up to my apartment. had to take the cat and the two of us...
since i’ve started “working” from home, i’ve learned a few lessons.
1. don’t stock your fridge full of food, or allow people to give you leftovers from dinner. they don’t stay leftover for long.
2. it’s important to let your roommates/domestic partners feel like you are contributing. do one chore everyday, like throwing away all those “i got laid...

mix cds have certainly gone the way of mix tapes. no one uses them, they take time to make, and they seem wasteful when you can just as easily make a short lived playlist on your ipod.
i recently just dug out a few: one chrs made for me in fall of 02, and two i made for myself in summer 05 and fall 07. they all perfectly capture time and events that would have been lost if i just made a temporary...

sounds pimp, huh? the royal fendersmith’s responsibility is to keep the 300 fireplaces lit at windsor castle. now i just have to wait for gary jones, the current fendersmith, to get a move on.
i might have to report the construction crew working outside my apartment. not because they wake me up at 7am by dropping bricks from a 3rd story window into a dumpster. or because they leave their truck on in reverse, so the back-up “beep beep” just continues endlessly.
